WASDI was used in the World Food Programme (WFP) initiative to analyze the impact of Typhoon Kammuri (Tisoy) in the Philippines.
The typhoon made landfall on the 3rd December 2019, striking Mindoro Island near Naujan City, after sweeping through the Bicol Region with winds reaching 210 km/h. By leveraging satellite data, WASDI contributed to mapping flood-affected areas, supporting humanitarian response and recovery efforts. This collaboration underscores the power of Earth Observation technology in disaster management and emergency planning.
